What is the purpose of a backflow assembly?
Backflow assemblies play a crucial role in safeguarding your health and maintaining the water quality of your water source. A backflow assembly is a device used to prevent the backflow of contaminated water into your clean water supply. The device can be one of the four types, Reduced Pressure Backflow Assembly (RPBA), Double Check Valve Assembly (DCVA), Pressure Vacuum Breaker (PVB) or Spill-Resistant Vacuum Breaker (SVB). These assemblies are specially designed to prevent the occurrence of backflow, backpressure or backsiphonage, thus ensuring the safety of your water supply.
